Finding Course Reserve Materials
Course reserves are library materials selected by faculty for use with specific courses. They circulate for a shorter loan period than other library materials to allow for more equitable access.
Students can find course reserves by searching Compass by instructor name or course title, or by visiting the circulation desk at any branch of the Library.
The Library purchases and places on reserve a physical copy of books that are required or optional for a course. When possible, an ebook license is purchased as well. There are a few exceptions, e.g. when a book is not available in physical format or there is not an institutional ebook license available for purchase.
Note for faculty: Materials that exist in an electronic format (documents, PDFs, e-books, audio and video files) or that reside in Panopto can be linked directly in Canvas. Please use our submission forms to submit your reserve requests.
