Off-campus Access to Databases
Bowdoin College students, faculty and staff may connect to the majority of library database resources from home or elsewhere by using their e-mail username and password when prompted. No special browser settings are needed.
To use library resources from off campus it is important:
- that you are accessing the resource through the library's web site - either through the list of databases or through CBBcat; this ensures that you are properly identified by the resource as a Bowdoin user;
- that you don't access the resource from an e-mail, bookmark, or Google search; instead, once you have the name of the resource, find it either through the list of databases or through CBBcat.
For more information or if you are having difficulty logging in, please contact the Library at 207-725-3280 or at Ask Us!
If you are not a member of the Bowdoin College community, you are welcome to use our databases from inside the Library. If you are a resident of the State of Maine you also have access to a number of free databases via the Digital Maine Library.
