Oliver William Means (Bowdoin 1884), a Congregational minister in Enfield, Connecticut (1888-1902), and in Springfield, Massachusetts (1904-1913), was born October 9, 1860 in Perry Center, New York. He was a graduate of Hartford Theological Seminary in Hartford, Connecticut (1899). Rev. Means was the son of George Jarvis Means (Bowdoin 1847), a Congregational minister in Perry Center (1858-1863), and Howells, New York (1863-1877); and the nephew of John Oliver Means (Bowdoin 1843), a clergyman in Millis, Massachusetts (1851-1855), and Roxbury, Massachusetts (1857-1877). Oliver William Means died June 6, 1939 in Brookfield, Massachusetts.
This collection contains twelve sermons, sermon notes, clippings, including mixed college materials, printed ephemera focused on "Great Missionaries of the Church" and miscellaneous.
