Aemilia Ars

Ruskin, John, 1819-1900
Giotto and His Works in Padua, Being an Explanatory Notice of the Frescoes in the Arena Chapel. London, G. Allen, 1900.

This work was bound by Aemelia Ars of Bologna in brown calf, elaborately blind tooled in a floral design. The title appears on the center of the front cover and the author's name on the back, each is outlined by gold fillets. A gold dentelle on calf surrounds the brown watered silk doublure, with matching silk lining. The edges are red; two metal clasps hold the binding closed.
