More than 750 works on sculpture, drawing, painting, prints, medals, and art in general are part of the collections. Many books in the field of printing and typography are included, as are thirty-two Rockwell Kent titles and a small collection of Kent ephemera. Two other groupings relate to the Museum of Art's Molinari medals collection and to William Zorach.
A reference collection of 173 items, assembled by Cesare and Amanda Molinari while forming their collection of medals and plaquettes, it includes nearly all the important works on the subject from the seventeenth century to the 1940s, as well as many marked copies of auction catalogs. It accompanied the Molinari Collection to Bowdoin's Museum of Art in 1966, and is now housed in the Special Collections and Archives Department.
A small collection of 137 items, mostly exhibit catalogs from the United States, Europe and South America, relate to the sculptor William Zorach (Bowd. Hon. 1958). Seven are exclusively on Zorach's own works, the others discuss his work, picture one or more of his sculptures or name him as an exhibit participant.
