Network Ports in the Library

The Library has activated high-speed network ports at study spaces throughout the libraries for use by Bowdoin College students, faculty, and staff.

To use an activated network port you must have a campus e-mail account. The Library provides the activated network ports for your convenience and cannot be responsible for the configuration of any hardware or software.

Accessing the network

You will need:

  • Your Laptop computer with an Ethernet card
  • Your Ethernet cable
  • PolarNet software
  1. Locate a student study space near any multicolored World Wide Web image.
  2. Plug your Ethernet cable into the activated port that corresponds with the number on the image. You are now connected to the Bowdoin College network!
