LibX Bowdoin College Library Edition
Install LibX Bowdoin Version 1.1.1

LibX Bowdoin College Library Edition is a Firefox extension for Firefox 1.5.x.x or higher, that provides direct access to the Library's resources. It features:
Toolbar & right-click context menu: Search directly from the LibX
toolbar or using the right-click context menu.
Support for off-campus access via EZProxy: Using the Library's EZProxy service, you may reload a page through the proxy, or follow a link via the proxy, making it appear as though you are coming from an on-campus computer. Simply choose the Reload this Page via Bowdoin Proxy link.
Google Scholar access to journal articles: LibX uses Google Scholar to search for articles and directs the user to the electronic copy subscribed to by the Bowdoin Library. Select a citation, then drag-and-drop it onto the Scholar button on the toolbar. You can use this feature even from inside a PDF file. To use this feature, you must first visit Google Scholar Preferences and search and select Bowdoin College from the Library Links section, and save your preferences.
Support for embedded cues:
LibX places cues
in web pages you visit which contain book information. Whenever you see the cue, click on the link to look at what the Bowdoin Library has to offer. Cues are displayed at Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Google, Yahoo! Search, the NY Times Book Review, and other pages that contain isbn information.
Support for xISBN: A book title can have different ISBNs for the paperback, the hardcover, even for different editions. LibX supports OCLC's xISBN service: you can find a book, given an ISBN, even if the Bowdoin Library holds this book under a different ISBN. When you choose the visual cue on a page with ISBNs, you will see other related ISBNs in a panel on the left. Selecting a different ISBN re-executes the search in the catalog for that ISBN.
Support for COinS: LibX supports COinS, which can turn certain hidden SPAN tags inserted by authors or publishers into actionable OpenURL (WebBridge) links. For an example visit The law journal index Current Law Journal Content and search any title, e.g. African Journal of Legal Studies. More information on COinS.
