Filters allow you to import citations from a database into EndNote. These instructions are for importing from the JSTOR database. Follow the steps below to save results and import them into EndNote:
When viewing search results, select the articles you would like to cite by using the check box next to their listing
Click 'Export Citations' in the bar near the top of the results.
Review the articles you have selected and select the 'RIS file' format from the menu above.
You may be prompted to select a program with which to open the file. Either RIS Default or EndNote should work fine. If it does not import automatically, continue to Step 5.
If Endnote is not already running, the program will begin, and you will be asked into which library you wish to import the references. You must use an existing EndNote library, which may reside on the local machine, a network drive, or a floppy, usb or zip disk. (If EndNote prompts you for a filter, select RefMan RIS)
Your references should appear in the ‘Imported References’ group in Endnote.
