EndNote Filter Help for ABC-CLIO Databases
Filters allow you to import citations from a database into EndNote. The instructions below work for the following ABC-CLIO databases:
Follow the steps below to save results and import them into EndNote:
| 1. When viewing the results list of a search,
select titles to save checking the |
| 2. Click the Export Options button |
| 3. Select Full Entry Short Entry Full Entry |
| 4. Select either Personal
List to export the items you selected, or Current
Results to export you
entire search results |
5. Under Output Type, choose EndNote |
| 6. Click on the Export Records button, followed
by the Export to Citation Manager button |
| 7. The EndNote program will begin, and you will be asked into which library you wish to import the references. You must use an existing EndNote library, which may reside on the local machine, a network drive, or a floppy, usb or zip disk. |
| 8. If you are prompted to select a filter, choose RefMan RIS1 |
| 15. You should now see the references listed in your EndNote library. Other references are temporarily hidden. If you wish to see all of the references in your library choose References / Show All References. |
1If you do not see the RefMan RIS filter, choose Other Filters... and then select it from the list.
