Introducing NExpress!

The Bowdoin Library is pleased to introduce NExpress, a new cooperative borrowing and lending service similar to Maine Info Net. NExpress is a combined catalog containing the library holdings of Bowdoin, Bates, Colby, Wellesley, Williams, and Northeastern University. Like Maine Info Net, NExpress lists participating libraries that hold a given title, and one can request an item directly online. The holdings of Bates, Bowdoin and Colby are duplicated in Maine Info Net and NExpress; however, the inclusion of the three Massachusetts institutions in NExpress greatly increases Bowdoin's access to important research collections. It is hoped that additional New England colleges and universities will join the system in the future.

You can connect to the NExpress catalog from the Library Gateway. The link is under Find Books, Articles, Etc. You can also connect to NExpress after typing a search in the Bowdoin catalog; use the button at the top or bottom of the results screen labeled "REPEAT IN NEXPRESS". You may also access it directly at http://nexpress.iii.com.

Under development in NExpress is a module that will enable patrons to place requests for journal articles as well as books. We will keep you posted on the progress of this module.

Please address your questions or comments to Phyllis McQuaide, Bridget Spaeth , or Guy Saldanha. We are looking forward to hearing your feedback about NExpress.
