Locating Journal Articles in Education
Locating scholarly or professional journal articles typically starts with searching for your topic in one of the library’s online indexes/databases.
Some of these databases provide citation only. Others contain the full text of the journal articles. When you’ve identified a useful article, click the "check availability" link in the database citation to launch a page that will list the options—print, electronic full text, or interlibrary loan—for obtaining the journal article.
You can also check Bowdoin Library journal availability through the “Journals A-Z” tab of the Online Catalog. Click the journals tab and fill in the name of the journal. Another useful function in the “Journals A-Z” module is browsing journals by subject. Under Education you may find some professional journals whose tables of contents can be browsed electronically to find your subject.
