The Power of Positive Thinking
by Norman Vinent Peale

Over five million copies of this amazing book have been sold since it was first published by Dr. Peale in 1952. It teaches the reader how to have confidence and faith in his or her abilities in order to gain fulfillment in life. Dr. Peale calls out to the reader to fill his or her mind and subconscious with positive thoughts so that happiness and success result. By providing specific examples of people who have tried his techniques, Dr. Peale proves that staying positive can change everything for the better. He urges the reader to set goals for school, work, relationships, and every other aspect of life. The book has taught me to never give up and not accept defeat. I am excited to share Dr. Peale’s techniques with others and employ them myself as I move on to the next phase of my life at Bowdoin College.
