Agency History / Biographical Note:
The Monmouth Militia was mustered in as part of the 1st Brigade, 8th Division of the Massachusetts militia, with which it served until the separation of Maine in 1820. It was thereafter assigned to the 1st Brigade, 2nd Division of the Maine militia.

Scope and Content:
Official records of the militia for each year, including muster rolls, company orders, a few brigade and division orders, and enlistment and discharge papers.
