Contains notes and papers kept by Sherman while he was a student at Bowdoin College and the Andover Theological Seminary, including papers read in front of the Theological Society and the Peucinian Society and a volume of Sherman's notes from Professor Stuart's biblical lectures at the Seminary in 1833. Also consists of addresses and essays by Sherman on both religious and secular subjects, such as the advantages of a liberal arts education, temperance, piety, and weakening the foundations of government. Most undated materials are indisgintuishable in terms of where and when they were written.
