Material concerning Chamberlain's life and finances. Records regarding his
pension, personal finances, land deeds, and his commonplace book are
included. There are also two journals (from 1853 and 1868). The bulk of
the 1853 journal, with sporadic entries from June - September 1853,
contains Chamberlain's observations on sermons and readings, but also
records his activities and local happenings. The pocket journal from 1868
records appointments, speaking engagements, expenses, and other daily
notes during Chamberlain's 1868 term as governor of the State of Maine.
