Series Description:
An autograph album including signatures of the officers of the 108th U.S.
Colored Infantry. Also diaries of Civil War soldiers and a civilian's
diary with brief entries made during the Civil War years. One diary was
owned by a succession of soldiers and has a pledge of loyalty to the
C.S.A. and a C.S.A. military pass laid in. Another soldier's diary is
accompanied by a pocket-size Bible.

black-and-white photograph. Subjects are young Union soldiers both in

Includes a Mississippi newspaper printed on wallpaper, a Louisiana newspaper
printed on wallpaper, and a Louisiana newspaper printed on ledger sheets. The
Louisiana newspapers were sent to the Hubbard family of Hallowell, Maine, by
John Barrett Hubbard, Captain and Assistant Adjutant in General Weitzel's
brigade, then in New Orleans.
