Caleb Joseph Emery was born April 16, 1846, in Mandarin, Florida. He served as a Surgeon's Steward in the United States Navy for three years, from 1863 to 1866. After his graduation from the Medical School of Maine at Bowdoin College in 1871, he practiced as a physician in Biddeford, Maine, from 1871 to 1925. Emery died November 7, 1925.
1 volume of lecture notes and accounts, ca. 1871-1874, and 10 volumes of physicians' call diaries, 1893-1908, compiled by Caleb Joseph Emery. The earliest volume consists of notes taken from the lectures of two professors from the Medical School of Maine, Alonzo Benjamin Palmer and William Warren Greene. Palmer was Professor of Pathology and Theraputics from 1870-1873 and William Warren Greene was Professor of Surgery from 1867 to 1881.
