
Primarily images from the College Archives that document Bowdoin College campus and people from the 19th century to the present.
Includes the Strout Collection, 1918-36, of negatives and prints of the Brunswick area, Maine resorts, and post World War I France; the Shulman Collection, 1930s-50s, of Bowdoin-related negatives, and the Stephen Merrill Photograph Collection, 1930-60, chiefly portrait Maine photography. Significant holdings within manuscript collections are also described. Published works containing artistic and abstract photography, especially images found in artists’ books, may be located through the Library catalog.
Contains commercial films and other videos related to apartheid, collected by the Maine Project on Southern Africa and made available through Bowdoin.
