Books & Other Printed Materials

American History

Nearly eight hundred volumes on American history are in the department's collections in addition to those in our American Imprints collection.

These include works about Maine history and the history of other states. Those pertaining to New Hampshire and Massachusetts predominate, but there are early and interesting items relating to most eastern states, to the early history of California, the American domination of Hawaii, and the founding of Texas.
