Series Description:
The art work of contemporary American artist, Leonard Baskin, was exhibited from October 12 - November 11, 1962. Marvin Sherwood Sadik, curator, organized this exhibit. Includes correspondence and publicity relating the exhibit and the Baskin Catalogue. Also includes Baskin's acceptance speech for the medal of the American Institute of Graphic Arts.

Series Description:
The first exhibit of its kind, The Portrayal of the Negro in American Painting was originally held for two months from May 15-July 15, 1964, but was extended to September 6, 1964 due to popular demand. Marvin Sherwood Sadik, curator of the Museum of Art, organized this exhibit. Includes correspondence concerning the lending of paintings to the Museum of Art, the security of exhibit and insurance for the paintings. Also includes publicity for the exhibit and information on the catalogue. Martin Luther King, Jr. visited the exhibit.

Series Description:
Correspondence regarding material accessioned by the Museum of Art, organized chronologically by the Museum of Art accession number. The bulk of the letters are dated from the late 1890s to the late 1930s and are written to Professor Henry Johnson (curator of the Museum of Art, 1881-1887, 1892-1914; and Director of the Museum of Art, 1914-1918), Anna Elizabeth Smith (Curator of the Art Collection, 1914-1935) and Professor Henry E. Andrews (Professor of Art and Director of the Museum of Art, 1918-1939). Letters are also addressed to Presidents Hyde and Sills; most of the correspondents are donors.
