Biographical Note:
The Bicentennial Committee was appointed in 1987 by President Greason to coordinate the 1994 bicentennial celebration. It was chaired by Merton G. Henry (Class of 1950, Trustee emeritus, 1987). Kathy Bunge (Kathy Billings) was hired in 1991 as the full-time Bicentennial Director, with responsibility for the organization of all events relating to the bicentennial.

Scope and Content:
The collection contains records, publications, photographs, copy negatives, recordings, and memorabilia from the Bicentennial Committee, Bicentennial Office, and the Bicentennial celebration. The records include correspondence, subject files, and texts of some speeches. There are also audio and video recordings of public events.
